Taj Indian Restaurant Burnside was founded in the quaint town of Nambour on the Sunshine Coast, quietly tucked away in the serene surroundings of Coes Creek road by award winning head chef and owner Shaikh Akbar Ali in 2011. Taj’s principal philosophy focuses on providing great flavor without compromising any quality, a skill that has been mastered here in our very own kitchen.
Head chef Akbar Ali strives to bring his knowledge and experience of 25 years in the restaurant industry, as well as his experiences working in restaurants back in his native India to the more contempory settings of Singapore and Australia to the plates of each and every diner here at Taj. Providing both high quality service as well as authentic Indian cuisine is what we strive for and here at Taj ensuring that every aspect of your dining experience is both pleasant and memorable.
At Taj Indian Restaurant we offer a wide variety of lamb, chicken and beef curries as well as an extensive range of delicious tasting vegetarian options. All of our meat products here at Taj are Halal certified and our chefs are experienced in working in accordance with such guidelines. We also offer authentic tandoor cuisine including traditional naan breads, roti, and a wide selection of tandoori entrees cooked by our experienced Tandoor chefs in the customary clay ovens. As our customers always come first we are more than happy to accommodate your dietary requirements, as all curries are gluten free we can also offer dairy free and nut free options on selected dishes.
